Taylor Swift’s Vienna concerts cancelled over alleged terrorist attack

Taylor Swift’s concerts in Austria have been canceled after two men were arrested on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack on her show in Vienna.

On Wednesday Austrian police said that a 19-year-old had been arrested in Ternitz, Austria from where Swift was scheduled to perform the Cruel Summer as part of her “Eras Tour” on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Ernst Happel Stadium.

Swift’s Austrian show promoter Barracuda announced the news in an Instagram post.

According to Fox News and BBC News sources, Franz Ruf, director general of public security at the Interior Ministry, told at a news conference that the suspects allegedly radicalized online, The 19-year-old suspect pledged allegiance to the Islamic State leader in early July.

As many as 60 families were evacuated as the search around the house continued into the evening, local media reported, adding that police added.

It was expected that the show would attract 65,000 fans a day, with an additional 10,000 to 15,000 fans outside of the area, as per the police information.

In October 2023, Taylor Swift released a record-breaking concert film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.


The Eras tour will end on December 8th in Vancouver, Canada.
