Lebanon blast update: residents of Lebanon are under the shadow of terror as electronics items such as television, fridge and radios are exploding before the panic caused by the chain pager blasts subsides.
The atmosphere of fear has increased so much in the Lebanon that many people are throwing away the batteries from walkie talkies and tv remotes.
On the other hand, sack of rice placed in the Beirut medical center parking has been detonated by Lebanese army, suspected of containing explosives.
Many videos are being shared on Lebanese social media accounts in which the people are claiming that many home electronics have been exploded.
Meanwhile several walkie talkies suddenly exploded during the funeral of a Hezbollah commander on Wednesday evening. About 14 people died in it and about 450 others were injured.
In the last two days, walkie-talkies and pagers used by Hezbollah militants exploded in its strongholds across Lebanon, killing at least 32 people and injuring more than 3,250 others,
Israel claims that it is “moving north” in its war tactics, indirectly admitting to its part in the surprise double attacks on Hezbollah that saw the detonation of pagers and walkie-talkies across Lebanon on two separate days.
According to a report, the three Hezbollah members who were killed in a pager blast a day earlier were preparing to bury a child along with several explosions. Some of the explosions were so intense that a car and a mobile phone shop completely destroyed.
Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was hurt in the pager attack on Hezbollah that left hundreds injured across the country and at least 12 people dead, including children. Iran has said it will respond.
Iran’s UN mission said in a letter on Wednesday it “will follow up on the attack against its ambassador in Lebanon which resulted in his injury and reserves its right under international law to take the necessary measures to respond to such a heinous crime and violation.”
